Storytimes and Other Programs for the Very Young
Please be aware that whenever the Guilderland School District closes for vacation, weather or illness, the library will not hold story times that day. If the schools are delayed, the morning storyhours will be cancelled. Please call about afternoon and evening programs. If schools close early, please call the library before coming, as programs are likely to be cancelled.
All registered and drop-in storytimes conclude on May 14.
Baby Bounce
Scheduled Mondays at 10:15 am
This biweekly storytime is for families with babies ages 5 to 15 months. Please register and pick up a schedule in the Youth Services Department. Registration required.
Baby Bounce Spring Session begins Monday, March 22, and continues on April 12, April 26, and May 10 at 10:15 am. Registration begins on March 1 for residents of the Guilderland School District, and continues March 4 for non-residents. To register, please come into the library, or call 456-2400 x 9.
Crossgates Family Storytime
Wednesdays at 11 am
This is a special drop-in storytime for the whole family. It's held every Wednesday at 11 am at the Borders Book Store at Crossgates Mall.
Drop-In Baby Playtime
Scheduled Mondays at 10:15 am
Families with children between the ages of birth to 36 months are invited to this unstructured free-play time. Come and enjoy the company of other moms, dads, and caregivers while your babies play and make new friends. We will provide toys, books and music for you to enjoy together. No registration is required, just drop in! Baby playtime will take place on these Mondays: April 5, May 17, May 24, June 7, and June 14
Drop-In Storytime
Mondays at 6:30 pm
Thursdays at 10:30 am and 1 pm
Fridays at 10:30 am
Drop-In Storytimes offer stories, puppets, music, dance, and crafts designed for active preschoolers, babies, and toddlers. Children must be accompanied by their caregivers. No registration is required. Come join us for a morning, afternoon, or evening of storytime fun!
Registered Storytime
Tuesdays at 10:30 am or
Wednesdays at 10:30 am
Children attend without parent or caregiver. Boys and girls must be between the ages of 3½ and 5 years old but not yet in kindergarten. This is a special time for them to interact with other children and to be independent. Registration is limited. Once you register, you are part of the storytime through the end of May 2010. If we find that spaces become available, we will offer another opportunity to register mid-year.
Toddler Time
Scheduled Mondays at 10:15 am or 11 am
This biweekly storytime is for toddlers ages 16 to 36 months with a caregiver. We will spend some time together with puppets, books, songs, fingerplays, flannel stories and fun movement activities geared toward these wiggly youngsters. There will be time for free play and conversation too. Registration required. Please register for either the 10:15 or the 11 am session.
The Toddler Time Spring Session begins Monday, March 15, and continues on March 29, April 19, and May 3 at 10:15 and 11 am. To register, please come to the library, or call 456-2400 x 9.
